Groundhopping in Wales

Groundhopping in Wales

For both UK-based and international visitors, groundhopping in Wales holds a unique draw. Although the country’s best-known clubs – such as Cardiff, Swansea, and Wrexham – play in the English system, Wales’ domestic pyramid hosts an incredible array of smaller grounds, some of which offer the most scenic backdrops in the country.

In the 2021/22 season, the grounds I have visited here are:

Parc Taf Bargoed (Nelson Cavaliers 2-4 Aberfan) | 19 Nov 2021
Penydarren Park (Merthyr Town 1-2 Harrow Borough) | 20 Nov 2021
Cardiff City Stadium (Cardiff City 0-1 Hull City) | 24 Nov 2021
Rodney Parade (Newport County 2-3 Hartlepool United) | 18 Mar 2022
Cwmnantygroes (Abertillery Bluebirds 4-1 Llandrindod Wells) | 19 Mar 2022
